Yakosaka 777 x Leo Mandella: Where Japanese Craft Meets London Culture
Balancing Japanese discipline with London’s creative energy, a new era begins with Yakosaka 777. The Tokyo-conceived and London-amplified label are combining veteran expertise and technical mastery to unveil the exclusive collaboration with Leo Mandella.
At the centre of the collection is the ‘Blank Canvas’ pocket, a permanent design feature, signature engineered using temperature-sensitive thermochromic inks. London creator and DJ Leo Mandella has regenerated the pocket into an interactive canvas; a living space for creative collaboration. Mandella’s exclusive custom design reacts to body heat shifting dynamically from signal red at room temperature to vibrant yellow when warmed past 30°C. The partners’ creative direction and technical craft have fixed into a living piece of subcultural expression.

Yakosaka 777 isn’t standing out, it’s integrating into culture. At its core, the brand is the Japanese philosophy of kodawari; an obsessive attention to detail and uncompromised craft. Every piece created is with this principle, this intention is not to recreate the past, but to build from it in the future.
Releasing as a strictly limited run, Drop 1 balances historical workwear references with contemporary silhouettes in indigo denim: The 777 Jean, a refined five-pocket cut in 13oz brown-weft selvedge with a deep indigo cast; the 888 Drawstring Worker’s Pant, a 10oz nep selvedge blend of 19th-century workwear and 1990s skate style with utility detailing; the 999 Tobi Pant, a 13oz brown-weft selvedge design drawing on Hakama workwear and Bōsōzoku biker culture, finished with an Obi-style waistband; the 222 No.2 Jacket, a classic 13oz workwear jacket in modern proportions; and a heavyweight, side-seamless Loopwheel Tee knitted in Japan on century-old machines at just one metre of fabric per hour.

Yakosaka 777 represents a return to raw denim fundamentals, paired with a contemporary approach to drop culture. Built around collaboration, contemporary style and culture, each drop acts as a platform for experimentation across clothing, art and sound, launched 24th September 2026.
