OMEGA Refines the Speedmaster 38 mm with Seven New Moonwatch-Inspired Designs

OMEGA presents the sophisticated evolution to the Speedmaster 38mm Collection, as seven reimagined designs are unveiled. The novel contemporary designs consider new colour variations and subtle refinements, taking a likeness to the aesthetic codes of the renowned Moonwatch.

The refreshed styles include rounded subdials to replace the oval prior, sharpening the athletic character of the collection. Another notable adjustment is less wording on the dial, creating a cleaner look, as well as calling back to the Moonwatch with thicker-style bezels with the essential Dot-Over-Ninety that is synonymous with the legendary piece.

Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA, says, “The Speedmaster 38 mm has always taken its cues from the Moonwatch, while keeping size, colour, and simplicity in mind.” This latest update has taken inspiration from the Moonwatch but retained the Speedmasters DNA, withthe refined and unique nature that the 38 mm range is known for.

At the heart of the collection sit two self-winding Co-Axial movements. The Calibre 3330 powers the six references with date functions, while the Calibre 3332 is used exclusively for the seventh Black Dial reference with no date.

The steel-on-steel models come in three dials. The black dial keeps the classic Moonwatch look – black aluminium bezel, matt black dial, white Super-LumiNova hands and indexes, on a brushed-and-polished bracelet. The white dial pairs a blue ceramic bezel and enamel tachymeter scale with a lacquered white dial and blue hands and indexes. The silvery dial has a grey aluminium bezel, an opaline silvery dial, and Sedna Gold-toned hands and indexes.

The bicolour models come in two versions. One has a silvery dial with a steel case, an 18K Moonshine Gold bezel over a green aluminium ring, and matching gold-toned hands, indexes, and bracelet links. The other takes cues from the Speedmaster 38’s “cappuccino” style, with an ivory dial, brown subdials, an 18K Sedna Gold bezel and matching bracelet links.

The diamond-set bezel models bring 52 diamonds and 1.53 total carats to the bezel, available with either an ice blue PVD-coated dial or a pure white mother-of-pearl dial, both finished with rhodium-plated hands and baton-shaped indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova.

Crafted with scale and expressivity in mind, this new range of materials and colours invites discovery – fresh, bold and full of possibility.
