OMEGA’s reimagined Seamaster Planet: From deep-sea heritage to modern luxury

London escaped the drizzle by jumping into a deep blue sea as OMEGA descended on Tate Modern to celebrate the next evolution of its iconic Seamaster Planet Ocean collection. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, actor, modern style icon and now the face of OMEGA’s redesigned diving watch universe took charge of the evening.
Following the global launch of the fourth-generation Seamaster Planet Ocean in 2025, the Swiss watchmaker brought its campaign to the capital with an immersive one-night-only event that transformed the Tate’s industrial Tanks into an underwater dreamscape. Cast under moody ambient light, marine projections, hypnotic soundscapes and a crowd dressed like they’d just stepped off the set of a Luca Guadagnino set at sea.

At the heart of the night was Taylor-Johnson, whose relationship with the Seamaster line runs deeply through his own life. The actor revealed the collection has long been part of his family history, worn by his father and now inherited into a new generation through his own partnership with the brand.
“I’ve formed a very strong partnership with OMEGA, grounded in our shared passion for detail and quality,” he said during the evening. “To be representing their Planet Ocean collection feels like a real milestone. It’s such a beautiful watch and I genuinely feel like it carries the Seamaster story forward so well.”

The new Seamaster Planet Ocean collection evidences changing tides for OMEGA. No longer a purely functional dive watch but a luxurious lifestyle accessory with all of the performance credentials. The redesign balances the adventurous, practical design DNA of the original with a sleeker, cleaner design The collection’s signature orange shade, first introduced in 2005, is also returning.
The new OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean watch is built on heritage and reinvention, luxury and actual utility. Available in stainless steel, or a rubber band for a more sporty feel. Available in blue, black and the collection’s iconic orange palette, the seven new models feel built for both actual exploration or simply for romantic walks along the beach this summer.
