ROLLS-ROYCE PRESENTS BLACK BADGE CULLINAN BY CYRIL KONGO: CAPTURING THE ENERGY OF CONTEMPORARY ART

Rolls-Royce’s brand defining individuality and Cyril Kongo’s raw energy and dramatic composition have harmoniously collaborated to present the Black Badge Cullinan by Cyril Kongo. Five exuberant private commissions featuring interior surfaces individually hand-painted by the world renowned multi-disciplinary artist.

The Black Badge Cullinan became a powerful canvas for ‘The Kongoverse’ – the artist’s aesthetic universe – and brought it to life within the motor car, as the darker alter-ego of Rolls-Royce. All five motor cars in this landmark project share the same creative theme, with each featuring a unique expression of destiny, imagination and the power of individuality.

To bring the vision to life, Kongo was embraced as a member of the marque’s bespoke collective of designers, engineers and artisans. Involved in every stage of the project’s conception, Kongo was unprecedentedly immersed in the Rolls-Royce world and set up with dedicated areas for co-creation, allowing Cyril the freedom to “Explore his vision in the moment”.

The hand-painted Starlight Headliner is the focal point of each Black Badge Cullinan by Cyril Kongo. Each respective motor car introduces imagined planets and constellations, alongside references to quantum physics, compositions embedded with equations and formulae symbolising infinite potential of imagination which are echoed in all Rolls-Royce Black Badge motor cars.

The Black Badge Cullinan by Cyril Kongo project has been curated by Rolls-Royce Private Offices in Seoul, New York and the original at Goodwood. All five Black Badge Cullinan by Cyril Kongo motor cars are allocated exclusively to collectors worldwide.
