The Wardrobe of Identities: a continued exploration of the self
Creative Director of Mugler, Miguel Castro Freitas, unveils the second instalment of The Wardrobe of Identities for the Pre-Fall 2026 collection. An exploration of the transformative and empowering ability of clothing, the collection utilises the familiarity of the everyday in its cinematography.
“Clothing has the power to transform not only how we are seen, but how we inhabit ourselves,” says Miguel Castro Freitas. Having succeeded former Creative Director Casey Cadwallader in 2025, Castro Freitas continues the fantastical element of Mugler while bringing reality to the forefront.

Rafael Pavarotti’s lens draws the viewer into the intimate moments of daily life, juxtaposing ideas of privacy with cinematic visuals. Utilising structured tailoring, fluid draping and defined silhouettes, the construction obeys the codes established by Castro Freitas in the first installment of The Wardrobe of Identities.
Modelled by Saskia de Brauw, The Wardrobe of Identities is concerned with multiplicity and self-expression, particularly the ability to conceal, reveal and redefine the self.

The collection is available from June 2026 on mugler.com and in selected boutiques worldwide.
