In the heart of Soho lies the former Great Marlborough Street Magistrates’ Court, now home to the Courthouse Hotel. The Magistrates’ Court closed in 1998, and the hotel opened in 2004, with the redeveloped building retaining original features such as Robert Adam fireplaces in some of the suites, the original prison cells (now VIP booths in the bar), and Courtroom Number One (now home to the Silk restaurant).

The hotel offers a wide range of spacious rooms, starting with the Classic Room – available with twin or double beds – offering distinctive charm in one of the finest spaces in London. Rooms scale up to the Superior Kings and Queens, with upgraded amenities and abundant space. The Magistrates’ Suites are individually designed, featuring marble bathrooms, wooden floor panelling and original Robert Adam fireplaces; some include a separate living area, while others are styled as studios. The ultimate in luxury is the Lalique Penthouse Suite, sleeping four across 110 square metres of dining, living and sleeping space, including two king bedrooms.

Beyond its guest room offerings, the Courthouse Hotel boasts one of the largest private cinemas in London. Seating 100 in style and comfort, the screening room is equipped to the highest standard with a professional digital projection system. Its rich aubergine and mauve interior plays host to a range of events, from product launches to weddings, corporate gatherings to the Saturday evening cinema club.
