LUXURY BEAUTY MEETS LONDON NIGHTLIFE AT ICONIC COCO x KOKO PARTY
Last night, Chanel marked the launch of COCO MADEMOISELLE CRUSH ABSOLU with an evening of scent-filled rooms and electric performances from some of London’s hottest artists. In partnership with iconic music venue KOKO and The House of KOKO, the venue’s famous sign was changed to COCO for the occasion. Together, the two brands curated a captivating atmosphere of immersive theatrical performances, choreographed dance and live sets from contemporary music talent, all set against a backdrop inspired by traditional Parisian cafés.
Few venues carry the weight KOKO does in British music history, a space that’s drawn everyone from music icons to underground artists since it first opened its doors in 1901. Now marking its 125th year, the venue has always drawn a particular kind of crowd: bold, distinctive and unafraid of conventions. Not unlike Gabrielle Chanel herself, whose androgynous style and fearless presence turned heads wherever she went. At its core, the Chanel x KOKO collaboration was built on a mutual love of creativity, reinvention and a rebellious streak that runs through both brands.
Through its doors, waiters served COCO MADEMOISELLE Crush Absolu on glowing white platters, as Blue Lab Beats – the Grammy-winning jazztronica duo – kicked off the night, setting the tone for what was to come. Jacob Lusk then took the stage as headline act, delivering a powerhouse three-song set that included a soul-stirring cover of “Young Hearts Run Free”, (the track behind the COCO MADEMOISELLE Crush Absolu film, starring Gracie Abrams) Gabriels’ “Glory”, and the first-ever performance of new track “La La”.
From there, the night gave way to late-night sets from house producer Lil Silva and Mercury Prize-winning artist Sampha, alongside UK garage pioneer MJ Cole, East London rapper John Glacier and Canadian house producer Jayda G. In the audience, guests included Anais Gallagher, Chloe Qisha, Earl Cave, Francesca Hayward, Greta Bellamacina, Griff, Haley Bennett, Joy Crookes, Kim Turnbull, Lennon Gallagher, Nia Smith, Sebastian Croft and Sophie Cookson, among others.
