Pull&Bear x Oscar Ouyang: a meeting of cultures

Ouyang grew up between Beijing and London, with this collection exploring fashion as social language and identity. Describing himself as “a third culture kid who grew up between cultures”, Ouyang combines Eastern and Western cultures throughout his designs. Aiming to capture the essence of youth subcultures, the collection evokes the period of growing up when “everything feels new, urgent and slightly out of place”.

Utility-inspired jackets, graphic knitwear and draped dresses are just some of the items found within the collection, placing Oscar Ouyang as a modern and forward-thinking designer. By creating a ready-to-wear collection of elevated basics, Ouyang is synonymous with the high street brand while expressing his own personal design style. Having previously studied Fashion Knitwear at Central Saint Martins, this collection mixes “chic with a little chaos” through twisting and reimagining familiar garments.

Notable pieces include mid-calf brown boots, cream knitted zip-ups (also available in grey), and embellished mid-rise jeans. The black sequined mini dress can be effortlessly styled with nearly every other item within the collection, which is arguably one of its biggest selling points. Ouyang has created garments simple enough to work in tandem, while emphasising craftsmanship with a focus on neutral colours. This is a strong debut into global fashion for Oscar Ouyang, proving why he was a recipient of NEWGEN for 2026/27.

Pull&Bear is the principal partner of BFC NEWGEN, an initiative which supports emerging designers through mentorship, showcases and financial support. The aim is to build high-end global brands, with recipients selected through their creativity, aesthetic and innovative approach to design. Recipients of NEWGEN are given a slot at London Fashion Week to showcase their work, as well as a place in the British Fashion Council’s pop-up showroom in Paris.
