McQueen: The Manta, Reimagined

Captured through the lens of renowned photographer Tim Walker, the latest visual instalment plunges beneath the surface, where light fractures and forms dissolve into fluid motion. Suspended in this aquatic realm, the sea-creature-inspired silhouette glides with quiet authority, its presence rippling through the depths, at once ethereal and commanding.

Originally conceived as part of McQueen’s Spring Summer 2010 Plato’s Atlantis collection, the De Manta bag emerges once more, reborn as the Manta. Rooted in one of the house’s most visionary narratives, its legacy is reimagined for a contemporary landscape defined by precision and transformation.

Echoing the sinuous movement of the manta ray, the design is distilled into a sculptural, folded form. Soft yet angular, its engineered geometry reveals the tension at the heart of McQueen’s design language where organic influence meets architectural discipline. The result is a silhouette that feels both instinctive and bold.

Reinvented for the rhythm of modern city life, the Manta bag is not simply an accessory, but an object in motion – designed to shift, fold, and evolve with its wearer.

Available in smooth black, deep red, and metallic gunmetal leather, each piece is punctuated with pearl, crystal, and chandelier chain embellishments – because at McQueen, drama is never an afterthought, but a signature.

The Manta bag is available now via McQueen UK’s official online store.
